As I have mentioned before, Matt and I were debating about taking Maddox to his first Alabama game in Tuscaloosa. We knew it would be fun, but Maddox had a super big fear of Big Al. We decided to try it out and worst case scenario we would have to leave. We went to the homecoming game which was 2 weeks ago. We had so much fun, but it was a very eventful trip.
It seems as if I cannot go to an Alabama game without passing out. The night before the game Matt and I ate something that seemed to have not been so good (and no, I did not cook it.) Matt was sick the night before the game and it did not hit me until we were standing in the middle of the heat. Here I go, looking like an idiot stumbling around with tunnel vision and if you didn't know me you would have thought I had a few too many. The sweetest lady helped me and got me back on my feet. So, that was REAL FUN!
Maddox had a blast. He loved playing on the Quad before the game and he also LOVED the Bama tattoo and the shaker that Uncle B gave him. He was a bit fearful of Big Al at first. At one point he was watching the band walk by, he was clapping and cheering, he was so into it and then he saw HIM [Big Al], a look of FEAR came across Maddox's face and the grip of death around Matt's neck. By the end of the game he was saying that he and Big Al were "best friends." So I really felt like not only did we have fun, we overcame a fear!
Here are some pictures of the fun day.
One more thing...
Happy Birthday, Mom! I love you and hope that you had the best day today, you deserve it!!

You didn't tell me that you almost fated again! Didn't this happen last year, too? Poor thing. And, I'm with you on the not finding time to update the whole blog thing - I've decided it's a great way for me to remember to take pictures and I'll post a thought, too, but certainly nothing to make a top priority. =)
